Imou Ranger 2C (IPC-K2ECP-3H3W)

Local RTSP/ONVIF stream (Dahua paths), user "admin" + safety code printed under the camera. Sub-stream: /cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=1. An "Imou Open Platform" meta-plugin (official cloud: recordings, events) is planned.

How to set it up

Before you start

  • The camera paired once in the Imou Life app (initial pairing goes through the app; there is no out-of-app setup).
  • The SAFETY CODE printed on the label under the camera: it is the RTSP stream password, not the Imou account one.
  • The camera's local IP address, ideally reserved on your router.
  • The local stream enabled in the app if your firmware offers the option.

Steps

  1. In Noviscan's Sources screen, search for "Ranger 2C" (or "Imou") and select the model: the form is pre-filled (port 554, Dahua path, user admin).
  2. Enter the camera's IP address.
  3. For the password, use the SAFETY CODE from the label — the username stays "admin".
  4. Keep the path /cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=0 for the main stream; subtype=1 gives the lighter sub-stream.
  5. Save: the source tests the connection.

If something goes wrong

  • Authentication refused: use the safety code from the label, not the Imou Life account password.
  • No stream despite correct credentials: some Imou firmwares disable RTSP by default — check the option in the app.
  • Motorised camera moving and cutting the stream: auto-tracking can briefly interrupt RTSP. Turn it off in the app if the cuts disturb analysis.
  • RTSP path refused: these paths are community-documented (Dahua firmware), not from an official Imou notice — try the subtype=1 sub-stream.
