Uniview Caméras Uniview / UNV (RTSP/ONVIF)

Before you start

• RTSP/ONVIF enabled on the camera or NVR (Config > Network > RTSP in the web interface) — some firmwares disable it by default.
• RTSP authentication enabled if you want the stream protected (otherwise open access on the local network).
• The local IP address of the camera OR the NVR, depending on your setup.
• Knowing whether you're targeting a direct IP camera or an NVR: the stream path differs in each case.

Steps

1. In Noviscan's Sources screen, search for "Uniview" or "UNV": the path /media/video1 (IP camera) and port 554 are pre-filled.
2. If you go through an NVR rather than a direct IP camera, replace the path with /unicast/c1/s0/live (channel 1, main stream — s1 for the sub-stream).
3. Enter the IP, username and password.
4. Save: the source tests the connection.

If something goes wrong

• Connection refused: check that RTSP is enabled in the camera/NVR network settings.
• Stream not found behind an NVR: the direct-camera path (/media/videoX) does not work through an NVR — use /unicast/c<channel>/s<stream>/live.
• Choppy image: use the sub-stream (/media/video2 or .../s1/live), lighter than the main stream.
• Federal compliance (NDAA/889): Uniview being a Chinese manufacturer, verify compliance if the purchase is subject to these rules.
